I had a bad experience with Piccolos recently.
My fiance was returning from a long journey and I had said that I would order him in what ever he wanted as a treat. He is very nostalgic about his home town and was keen to try a pizza place he used to go to in his youth.
There are several Piccolos pizzas around Northern Ireland and they have a good reputation so I thought nothing of ordering two pizzas to be delivered to the door for 7pm.
My fiance was home, the house was tidy, the beer was poured and he was starving but 7pm came and went. I rang up and was told they were on their way. 7.30pm came and went I rang again - they are on their way madam. 8pm no pizza, 8.15 the pizzas arrived - cold and swimming in grease we had to bin them.
A furious letter of complaint was written and we received two free pizzas which we have yet to claim - I don't think we will be back at Piccolos but as I always say, maybe they were having a bad day, short staffed or some other reason. I'm sure they haven't gained their good reputation for nothing.
